About the Weißfrauenschule

The Weißfrauenschule is a target-oriented special school for children with a special focus on speech and language therapy. It is currently attended by around 180 students.

The proportion of schoolchildren with a first language other than German roughly corresponds to the proportion of families with a migration background in the city of Frankfurt.

For the earliest and most intensive support possible, we take children in at the age of five. The aim of early support is to enable schooling  with the same learning objectives and to go back to the general school.

A good time for the transition is usually after the pre-class or after class 2.

After class 4, all pupils switch to general school, whereby the right to special educational support can be canceled or maintained depending on the level of linguistic development reached.

Independent school with a large school budget

The Weißfrauenschule is an independent school with means we have a large school budget. In addition to the state funds that are allocated to all schools, the Weißfrauenschule receives additional funds for every unoccupied teaching hour at the Weißfrauenschule.

Thus, in terms of school development, we can involve people who support projects and, above all, support the work of the teaching staff in the area of social learning.
